gnome-paint software package provides simple, easy to use paint program for GNOME, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gnome-paint
gnome-paint is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gnome-paint package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gnome-paint *
You will get with gnome-paint package name, version, architecture and description in a table
